HARRISBURG — Sen. Frank Farry (R-6) announced several projects across the 6th Senatorial District were awarded more than $7.8 million in Local Share Account (LSA) funds from the Commonwealth Financing Authority today.
“This funding will help communities across the 6th Senatorial District address important needs and move forward with projects that have been a priority for local leaders,” said Farry. “Whether it’s upgrading emergency response capabilities, improving local infrastructure, or enhancing opportunities for children and families, these grants will provide meaningful benefits for residents. I’m proud to support bringing these resources back to our communities and see these projects turn into reality.”
The following projects were funded:
- Middletown Township — $593,500 for upgrades to at Forsythia Crossing Park.
- Warwick Township — $389,112 to construct a playground in Hidden Pond Park.
- Penndel Middletown Emergency Squad — $387,126 for the purchase of a bariatric ambulance for regional emergency responses.
- Warrington Community Ambulance Corps — $200,000 for the purchase of an ambulance.
- Lower Southampton Township — $461,206 to purchase five municipal vehicles.
- Bensalem Township — $98,982 for the purchase and installation of a firefighter safety exhaust extraction system.
- Bucks County Industrial Development Authority — Housing Development Authority — $91,759 to resurface and restripe two parking lots.
- Bucks County Industrial Development Authority — Middle Bucks Area Vocational-Technical School Authority — $145,335 for the construction of a pedestrian pathway.
- Bucks County Redevelopment Authority — Habitat for Humanity of Bucks County, Inc. — $1 million for the Bucks County Blight Abatement Program.
- Bucks County Redevelopment Authority — Warminster Township — $254,364 to purchase equipment for the Central Bucks County Special Response Team.
- Bucks County Redevelopment Authority — Lower Southampton Fire Department — $630,000 to purchase a new fire truck.
- Bucks County Redevelopment Authority — Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic Medical Group — $314,384 to purchase 44 hospital beds for St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne.
- Bucks County Redevelopment Authority — Warminster Township Police Department — $152,848 to replace two police vehicles.
- Bucks County Water and Sewer Authority — Bensalem Township — $162,000 to replace the Totem Road pump station flow meter.
- Ivyland Borough — $994,271 for Phase III of the Greeley Avenue storm sewer extension project.
- North Wales Water Authority — Warrington Township — $126,400 to purchase two public service utility vehicles.
- Northampton Bucks County Municipal Authority — $821,205 to replace iron and manganese filters at Well 16.
- Upper Southampton Municipal Authority — Upper Southampton Township — $1 million to line sewer pipes.
Farry also thanked his House colleagues Kathleen Tomlinson, Brian Munroe, Shelby Labs, Kristin Marcell, Joe Hogan, Jim Prokopiak and Liz Hanbidge for their bipartisan hard work in helping secure these important investments for communities across the district.
The statewide LSA program distributes gaming revenue to economic development projects. The grants are also funded through the Marcellus Shale Fund, which was created by Act 13 of 2012. The funding was approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority, an independent agency of the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development which administers many of Pennsylvania’s economic development and community improvement programs.
