Farry Announces More Than $3.25 Million in State Funding for Bucks County Improvement Projects

State assistance for local projects

HARRISBURG – Sen. Frank Farry (R-6) announced more than $3.25 million in state funding has been awarded to four improvement projects in the 6th Senatorial District.

“Every one of these projects will make a meaningful difference in Bucks County,” said Farry. “This funding will help communities move forward with long-planned improvements that will better serve residents now and well into the future. I was proud to partner with Reps. Marcell, Tomlinson and Hogan for this important funding”

Shenandoah Woods, Warminster Township will receive $1 million for the multi-phase transformation of the former Department of Navy residential site into a regional public park. The project includes site preparation, trail construction, parking, stormwater management, landscaping and the future addition of recreational and educational amenities.

Bensalem Township Administration Building Energy Efficiency Project will receive $1 million to replace and upgrade the building’s existing roof-mounted solar panel system. The project includes demolition and disposal of the current system and installation of new solar panels and supporting infrastructure to improve energy efficiency.

All Abilities Recreation, Inc. (PlayaRaya Campus), Northampton Township will receive $750,000 to expand the PlayaRaya Campus redevelopment beyond its aquatic amenities. The project includes site work, landscaping, lighting, educational signage and construction of a new multi-level building to create a more accessible recreational destination.

Middletown Township Department of Public Works Yard will receive $500,000 to support the demolition, reconstruction and expansion of the township’s Department of Public Works yard and facilities, improving operations and the township’s ability to serve residents.

The funding was awarded through the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP), which is administered by the Pennsylvania Office of the Budget and provides grants for the acquisition and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational and historical improvement projects. RACP projects are intended to have a regional or multi-jurisdictional impact while generating or sustaining economic activity, employment and tax revenue.
