HARRISBURG – Sen. Frank Farry (R-6) proudly accepted the Health Care Champion Award presented by the Pennsylvania Association of Staff Nurses and Allied Professionals (PASNAP) in recognition of his outstanding advocacy for nurses and health care workers and those they serve across the commonwealth. The award was presented to Farry at PASNAP’s 25th Anniversary House of Delegates held in Hershey on April 27.

PASNAP represents more than 11,000 frontline nurses and health care professionals across Pennsylvania and was founded 25 years ago on the belief that patients receive the best care when clinical-care staff have a strong voice to advocate for their patients and themselves. PASNAP has two local branches in Bucks County: The Nurses Association of Lower Bucks Hospital and St. Mary United Nurses Union.

“I am honored and humbled to receive this award from PASNAP as they celebrate their 25th anniversary,” said Farry. “I am proud to support the noble work of these men and women and remain committed to advocating for safe working conditions for our frontline nurses and health care professionals, which helps lead to the high-quality care for the patients they serve.”

Now in its second year, the PASNAP Health Care Champion Award recognizes individuals whose actions reflect a deep respect for the dignity of health care workers and a clear understanding of the critical link between workplace conditions and patient outcomes.

“Sen. Farry has never hesitated to stand with nurses – even in the toughest moments. Whether on the legislative floor or at the bargaining table, his support has been vocal, visible and invaluable. We are thrilled to honor Sen. Farry with the 2025 Health Care Champion Award,” said Maureen May, RN, president of PASNAP.

“Throughout his career, Sen. Farry has demonstrated an exceptional commitment to protecting both patient care and the professionals who deliver it. From advocating for safe staffing standards to supporting fair contracts and collective bargaining rights, his leadership has consistently prioritized the voices of those on the front lines of health care. He has always stood with the nurses and health care workers at Lower Bucks Hospital,” said Shirley Crowell, RN, co-president of Nurses Association of Lower Bucks Hospital and executive board member of PASNAP.

“Sen. Farry’s commitment goes beyond policy – it’s personal. From walking strike lines to attending union meetings, he has shown up consistently and without hesitation. His bipartisan leadership and hands-on public service make him a trusted ally to health care workers across Bucks County and across Pennsylvania,” said Robert Bozek, RN, president of St. Mary United Nurses Union and executive board member of PASNAP.
