Honor Flight Philadelphia

Honor Flight Philadelphia celebrates America’s Veterans by inviting them to share in a day of tribute and celebration at our nation’s memorials in Washington, DC. They are currently recruiting World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War veterans.

Mission One: Leaving from West Chester, PA on September 19, 2026

Mission Two: Leaving from Williamsport, PA on October 10th and 11th (This is a two-day mission)

Amputee and Paralyzed Veterans Pension Program

Qualifying veterans can apply through their County Director of Veterans Affairs to receive $150 per month through Pennsylvania’s Amputee and Paralyzed Veterans Pension program.

Applicants must have been a Pennsylvania resident upon entering the military; have received Honorable or Under Honorable Conditions discharge; have a service-connected injury or incurred a disease resulting in the loss or loss of use of two or more extremities; and have at least a 40% or higher disability rating compensation rating in each limb as determined and certified by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Improving Veteran Access to Homeownership

All veterans, service members and surviving spouses applying for a VA-backed home loan can now obtain their active Certificate of Eligibility (COE) in real-time through the VA: Health and Benefits mobile app. A COE verifies eligibility for the VA Home Loan Program to lenders.

Honoring Those Who Gave All

Memorial Day is a time to pause as a nation and honor the memory of Americans who left their hometowns and laid down their lives in service to our country.

Their sacrifice is a debt we can never fully repay. We owe it to them to tell their stories and do our part as citizens of this great nation to ensure they did not die in vain.

There are many ceremonies and parades taking place in the 6th Senatorial District this weekend to honor the heroes who have made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country. As of this email, all events are still on. Some may move locations. Please check with the appropriate organization for changes.

Saturday May 23rd:
Penndel-Hulmeville Parade will begin @9am, Due to the weather forecast, the ceremony following the parade will be held in Penndel Borough Hall. As of this email, the parade is still on and the committee is monitoring the weather.

Warrington Township Veterans Affair Committee Memorial Day Ceremony @11am Saturday at the Igoe Porter Wellings Memorial Field, 3095 Bradley Road.

Monday May 25th:
Langhorne American Legion Memorial Day Ceremony and Parade @9am starting at the Jesse W. Soby American Legion Post at 115 West Richardson Ave and will parade through Langhorne Borough.

Bensalem VFW Memorial Day Parade @10 am will begin at Holy Ghost Prep located at 2429 Bristol Pike.

Northampton Township Board of Supervisors and Northampton Township Veterans Advisory Committee Memorial Day Ceremony @9am at Robert H. Dembrowski, Jr. Veterans Memorial Park in Richboro.

Warminster Township VFW Memorial Day Ceremony and Parade @10am will begin in front of the Warminster Township Building, 401 Gibson Avenue followed by a parade ending at the VFW on Louis Drive.
