PECO Utility Improvement to Close Brownsville Road Rescheduled to Begin Mon Dec 1

PennDOT announced today that the construction originally scheduled to start this week for the PECO utility improvement work on Brownsville Rd. in Bensalem and Lower Southampton townships has been updated to begin Monday, December 1.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:

• Monday, December 1, through Friday, February 27, 2026, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, Brownsville Road will be closed and detoured weeknights between Bristol Road and Knable Lane. During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Elmwood Avenue, Route 213 (Bridgetown Pike), and Route 132 (Street Road).

Local access will be maintained. Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
