In This Update:
Honoring Local Eagle ScoutsThis month, I had the privilege of honoring three outstanding local young leaders with citations from the Senate of Pennsylvania in recognition of earning the highest rank available in Scouting America—Eagle Scout. Only attained by a small percentage of all Scouts, this monumental achievement represents the great sacrifice and tremendous efforts that have been made by these young men. Evan Wicke, Troop 147 Evan has served his troop as Instructor, Assistant Patrol Leader, Patrol Leader, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, Senior Patrol Leader, and Junior Assistant Scoutmaster. For his Eagle Scout community service project, Evan removed and replaced fencing, installed a gate and cleaned up the area at a local garden. Luke Bruzas, Troop 354 During his time in the troop, Luke has ascended through the prominent positions of Den Chief, Patrol Leader, and Assistant Senior Patrol Leader. He completed the refurbishment and expansion of the Storybook Stroll in Tyler State Park to give back to his community during his Eagle Scout project. Conner Kuryluk, Troop 29 Conner’s leadership roles within his troop were Bugler and Quartermaster. For his Eagle Scout community service project, Conner collected, sorted, and delivered personal hygiene products to the Salvation Army in Levittown. Conner also obtained a secure receptacle for further donations to be made, which is now located in the lobby of the Salvation Army. Lingohocken Fire Co. Members Honored for a Lifesaving ResponseI was proud to join Lingohocken Fire Company for their annual awards dinner and help recognize members involved in a lifesaving response this past December. On December 21st, 2025. Deputy 35, Engine 35, and Engine 95, responded with Central Bucks Emergency Medical Services and Buckingham Township Police Department to a cardiac arrest call in Buckingham Township. Thanks to their quick action and teamwork, the patient is alive and well today. Congratulations to Assisting Chief John Bailey, Duane Smith, Robert Flowers, Mike Sullivan, Dennis Kilfeather, Mike Squillace, Jack Prince, Jack Kukulya, and Pierson Stallings for their outstanding service and dedication to the community. Funding for Middletown Township Projects
Rep. Hogan and I are proud to announce that over $2.8 million in grant funding has been awarded to projects based in Middletown Township from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) through the federal Transportation Alternatives Set-Aside Program (TASA). The projects receiving funding are as follows: – The Bucks County Planning Commission has been awarded $1.4 million to construct the Frosty Hollow Trail in Middletown Township, connecting Frosty Hollow Park and Upper Orchard Park. – Middletown Township has been awarded $1.5 million to construct three new sidewalk segments to close critical gaps along Woodbourne Road. The project will provide a continuous, ADA-accessible pedestrian route linking residential areas, the Woodbourne SEPTA Station, and Oxford Valley Mall, improving safety and connectivity for commuters, visitors and residents. New Medical and Health Professional Loans Support Graduate Students
The Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency has launched a new Medical and Health Professional Loan Program to support graduate students in medical, dental, veterinarian and health professional studies. The program features deferred repayment during residency, fellowship, internship, research and other clinical training, and the potential for reduced reliance on co-signers. This initiative helps fill critical, specialized positions to serve citizens across the commonwealth. Medical students can apply here. Other health-related students can apply here. Students pursuing advanced degrees in other areas of study can apply here. Honoring Those Who Gave All
