PECO Withdrew Proposal for Rate Increases

I am proud to announce that following discussions with PECO officials, PECO has withdrew its request before the Public Utility Commission to increase costs for ratepayers.

PECO was seeking a 12.5% increase for residential electric customers and 11.4% for residential natural gas customers at a combined cost of $429 million.

Understanding the financial strain this increase would have to the hardworking families and small business in our community, my colleagues and I sent a letter to PECO officials urging them to reconsider their proposal.

We are happy that PECO made the decision to withdraw their proposal and I am committed to continuing the fight against rate and tax increases, always putting our community first.

Our Shredding Event at Bensalem High School is Tomorrow

Tomorrow, April 18, Rep. Tomlinson and I are hosting a free shredding event for the residents of the 6th Senatorial district at Bensalem High School from 10 am to noon.

If you’re doing some spring cleaning, this is a great opportunity to safely dispose of sensitive documents and help protect your identity. These events are a simple way to reduce clutter while keeping your personal information secure.

Please note: there is a limit of two boxes per resident, events are open to residents only, and no plastic bags will be accepted.

If you can not make it tomorrow, we are hosting two additional shredding events:

April 25, hosted with Rep. Marcell

Saturday April 25 from 10 am to 12:00 pm at The Runway at Warminster Community Park, located at 350 East Bristol Rd. Warminster.

Saturday May 16, hosted with Rep. Hogan

Saturday May 16 from 10 am to 12:00 pm at my district office, 370 East Maple Avenue in Langhorne.

Thank You to All Telecommunicators

I want to recognize all the telecommunicators personnel in the public safety community. As we celebrate National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, we remember that these incredible men and women behind the scenes answering the calls are the first line of communication in an emergency situation. As a first responder, they are often our lifeline as well.

To show our appreciation for their dedication to serving the public, I was grateful to drop off on behalf of myself and state reps. Hogan, Labs, Marcell, Tomlinson and Staats, several baked good trays from Styer Orchard to the Bucks 911 Center and thank them in person.

Langhorne Borough Celebrates 150 Years

Langhorne Borough is proudly celebrating 150 years since its incorporation in 1876, a milestone that coincides with our nation’s 250th anniversary. I was honored to present a citation from the Senate of Pennsylvania recognizing this historic achievement for the community.

Festivities will continue with special celebrations throughout the year. Be sure to check out their upcoming events and join in honoring Langhorne’s rich history: more info.

Student Teachers Can Apply for Assistance Through PA Support Program

Planning to be a student teacher in 2026-27? The Student Teacher Support Program provides financial assistance in return for help alleviating Pennsylvania’s pressing teacher shortage.

It provides $10,000 to eligible student teachers and up to $2,500 to teachers who mentor them. Recipients must commit to teaching in Pennsylvania for three years following the completion of their teaching certification.

Selection will be conducted on a first-come, first-served basis based on when the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency receives a completed student application. Learn more and apply here.

National Donate Life Month

You can save up to eight lives through organ donation, restore sight to two people through cornea donation and heal more than 75 people through tissue donation.

While the vast majority of Americans support donation, many overlook the important step of registering their decision to be a donor. Donate Life America has plenty of useful information on this lifesaving topic. Find out how to add the Organ Donor designation to your driver’s license or ID card here.
