Traffic Update - January 2, 2026

Construction Continues through January on Langhorne-Yardley Road, Woodbourne Road in Middletown Township

PennDOT announced earlier this week that various construction activities are scheduled in January on Langhorne-Yardley Road and Woodbourne Road under a $10.9 million project to improve traffic congestion and safety on Langhorne-Yardley Road at the Bridgetown Pike and Woodbourne Road intersections in Middletown Township, Bucks County.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:

Monday, January 5, through Friday, January 30, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a periodic lane closure with flagging will occur weekdays on Langhorne-Yardley Road between Bridgetown Pike and Briggs Road.
Monday, January 5, through Friday, January 30, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a periodic lane closure with flagging will occur weekdays on Woodbourne Road between Kilburn Road and the entrance to Core Creek Park.
Monday, January 5, through Friday, January 30, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a periodic lane closure with flagging will occur weekdays on Ellis Road between Fulling Mill Road and Woodbourne Road.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when travelling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Under this contract, PennDOT’s contractor constructed a new single-lane roundabout at Langhorne-Yardley Road and Bridgetown Pike. The roundabout was reopened on Friday, August 15, 2025. Work also included realigning the roadway; installing upgraded traffic signals, stormwater management, ADA curb ramps, signage, and lighting; performing resurfacing operations; and improving mobility for pedestrians and bicyclists.

Improvements on Langhorne-Yardley Road and its intersection with Woodbourne Road will continue through early 2026 and include realigning the northern leg of Woodbourne Road and constructing auxiliary turn lanes on all four approaches. The eastern leg of Woodbourne Road will also be widened to allow for a left turn lane on Langhorne-Yardley Road approaching Erica Drive.
