Eagle Scout Court of Honor in our Community

I had the honor of attending the Eagle Scout Court of Honor for an exceptional young woman, Amelia Schaller. Earning the rank of Eagle Scout is no small feat – it takes years of dedication, perseverance, and leadership.

Amelia is a member of Troop 102, which is sponsored by Delaware Valley Vietnam Veterans. For her Eagle Scout community project, she restored a fountain at Villa Victoria Academy in Ewing, New Jersey.

I presented a citation to Amelia from the Senate of Pennsylvania for this monumental achievement. Amelia’s hard work and determination have paved the way for others to follow and I wish her luck in all her future endeavors.

Neshaminy High School Military Commitment Ceremony

I had the pleasure of attending the Military Commitment Ceremony at Neshaminy High School. The ceremony honored the seven graduating students who have committed to pursuing a career in the United States Military.

Honored were: Marharyta Chumakova, Kaidin Marciano, Ryan Sullivan (US Air Force); Edward Walsh (U.S. Navy); Aidan Russell, Charlotte Anderson (Army National Guard); Natalie Woodman (Merchant Marine Academy).

I commend these brave young men and women for choosing to serve our country and wish them the best of luck.

Groundbreaking for the Neshaminy Greenway Trail in Core Creek Park

I was pleased to join the Bucks County Planning Commission, Bucks County Parks and Recreation Department, Middletown Township officials, and local elected officials yesterday to celebrate the groundbreaking of Neshaminy Greenway Trail Phase III at Core Creek Park in Langhorne.

This project will construct a 1-mile trail within Core Creek Park, with the goal of linking existing park trails to the intersection of Woodbourne and Ellis Roads. This extension will traverse a tributary of Core Creek and includes the installation of a floating boardwalk to complete the trail. Once complete, the trail will be part of The Circuit, an 800-mile bicycle circuit in the Delaware Valley.

Design costs for the project were funded by PennDOT’s Act 13 Marcellus Legacy Fund and construction costs will be funded through PennDOT’s Transportation Alternative Set Aside Program. I was proud to support these programs in Harrisburg and glad some of the funds are being brought back to the 6th Senatorial District.

More information on the project.

St. Andrew Girls’ State Championship Basketball Team Honored

Earlier this week, I was pleased to join in celebrating the St. Andrew School Girls’ Basketball Team’s State Championship win. The Crusaders captured the 2025 CYO State title by defeating Mother of Mercy Academy with a score of 37 to 34. They further distinguished themselves during the season by winning the Region 19 and Archdiocese of Philadelphia championships and amassing a record of 28 wins and 1 loss.

Congratulations to coaches Fran Costello and Mitch Akright, and team members Haley Costello, Emerson Akright, Lauren Michelle Smith, Victoria Lynne Smith, Delaney Demianczyk, Nicole Trespalacios, Claire Slaugenhoup, Lilly Cosenza, Austyn Murray and Jillian Dippolito.

Their hard work, determination, and unwavering spirit have paid off, and I was proud to present them with citations, along with Sen. Santarsiero, from the Senate of Pennsylvania for this outstanding achievement.
