Supporting St. Mary’s Breast Imaging Center

Senator Farry, Rep. Hogan and four St. Mary’s staff members stand in front of a Breast Imaging Center holding a large check.

I am proud to have help secure state funding, along with Rep. Hogan, to support St. Mary Medical Center’s Breast Imaging Center. This investment will enhance women’s medical imaging by improving patient comfort, strengthening staff expertise, and replacing breast ultrasound transducers. The funding will also support on-site clinical training for radiologists and technologists, ensuring the breast biopsy procedures are conducted safely, accurately, and efficiently.

Honoring Three Local Eagle Scouts

Senator Farry stands with two eagle Scouts holding Senate citations. and Senator Farry, Congressman Fitzpatric, Rep. Munroe and an Eagle Scout stand on altar of Church holding citations.

I was honored to attend the Court of Honor ceremonies recognizing three local young men who recently achieved the rank of Eagle Scout—the highest advancement rank in the Boy Scouts of America. Only a small percentage of Scouts attain this prestigious rank, making it a tremendous accomplishment that reflects years of dedication, leadership, and service.

I congratulate these outstanding young leaders and commend them for the lasting impact they have made in our community through their Eagle Scout projects:

  • Noah Kelly – Troop 153, Feasterville: Completed maintenance at Idlewood trails and installed a trail map entrance.
  • Dylan Wild, Troop 153, Feasterville: Reconstructed seventeen benches at Playwicki Farm.
  • Tyler Everly, Troop 139, Warminster: Designed and built K-9 training equipment for the Plymouth Township Police Department.

I presented each Scout with a citation from the Senate of Pennsylvania recognizing this outstanding achievement and their many years of service and leadership in our community.

Women’s Animal Center Clear the Shelters Adoption Event

Graphic with several photos of people and pets advertising Women’s Animal Center Clear the Shelter Event on August 29, 2026, 10am to 2pm.

Women’s Animal Center is a participating shelter for the 12th Annual NBCUniversal ‘Clear the Shelters’ nationwide pet adoption event that helps find loving forever homes for surrendered and stray animals. And thanks to the generous financial support of Inspire Federal Credit Union as this year’s Event Partner, adoption fees for cats, dogs and small animals will be FREE for individuals and families adopting from Women’s Animal Center on Saturday, August 29th.

The event will also feature complimentary refreshments, giveaways for adopters and coloring activities for the kids. All shelter pets adopted from Women’s Animal Center are spayed and/or neutered, receive preventative and lifesaving vaccines, and are microchipped which provides a permanent means of identification should a pet become separated from its new family.  Adopters will also receive 10% off in the Veterinary Hospital for their pet’s first annual physical exam.

Those interested in adopting a shelter pet are invited to visit Women’s Animal Center at 3839 Richlieu Road in Bensalem on Saturday, August 29th from 10am-2pm.  To prepare for the day, potential adopters should FIRST visit the Center’s website adoption page to view photos of adoptable pets and for information about the adoption process and what/who to bring.

School Bus Safety Legislation Awaits House Action

Over the past five years, 25,136 Pennsylvania drivers have been cited for school zone violations, including 8,302 for overtaking or illegally passing a school bus. The Unified Judicial System of Pennsylvania breaks down the numbers here.

In September 2025, the Senate unanimously passed Senate Bill 65, Enhancing the Safe Transportation of School Children, which would extend the stopping distance requirement from 10 feet to 15 feet before reaching the bus when the red signal lights are flashing and the side stop arm is activated. It also develops a tiered penalty system for a second or subsequent offense. Current law does not penalize repeat offenders.

With the start of a new school year nearly a year later, it still awaits a vote by the full House of Representatives. Read more about this effort to boost school bus safety here.
