Upcoming Events

Home Safety Event

I hope you can join us for a Home Safety Event hosted by Kidde on August 29^th from 11 am to 1 pm at Middle Bucks Institute of Technology, located at 2740 York Rd.in Jamison.

Attendees will have the opportunity to refresh their fire and carbon monoxide safety knowledge, while enjoying a variety of family-friendly activities. I will be joined by Rep. Marcell and members of the Warwick Fire Department.

The event will feature fire and carbon monoxide safety education tools, a meet and greet with Peppa Pig, a snow cone truck, giveaways, and more. Free smoke detectors will be available to community members who need them.

Senior Expo

We invite seniors and their families of the 6^th Senatorial District to our annual Senior Expo. The expo is a ‘one stop shop’ opportunity to gather valuable information and meet face to face with people in our area who can assist them with a wide range of services. It will be held on Thursday September 17 from 10 am to 1 pm at Northampton Valley Country Club.

The event will feature exhibitors from state, federal, county, and local agencies offering information on various programs available to assist seniors. There will also be health screenings, senior SEPTA key card processing station, and a prescription take-back on site.

Our staff will be onsite to help with any state-related questions. We hope you can join us for this informative and fun day.

Bensalem Shredding Event

Rep. Tomlinson and I are hosting a Shredding Event on Saturday September 19 from 10 am to noon at Bensalem High School, located at 4319 Hulmeville Ave in Bensalem.

With the cases of identity theft rising at a significant rate, this is a great opportunity to properly dispose of documents containing personal information. Residents of the 6^th Senatorial district are encouraged to bring documents that contain sensitive information, such as Social Security numbers, medical information, or bank account numbers, to be thoroughly shredded.  

Due to high demand, individuals are limited to two file boxes of paper to be shredded. Please do not place your paper in plastic bags as it cannot be shredded. This is an event for residents only, no businesses, please. 

Prior to the event, please place all shredding materials and donation items in the trunk of your vehicle.  Once you arrive, stay in your vehicle and staff will assist with removing the materials.

Supporting Our Local First Responders

Last Tuesday night, I had the opportunity to visit several National Night Out events across the 6th Senatorial District. National Night Out is an annual event that brings police, first responders, and the community together to build stronger relationships and promote public safety. It was great to speak with so many of our local first responders and residents who make our community stronger.

As your state senator, I am proud to bring state funding back to our communities to support our first responders, helping to ease the burden on taxpayers while supporting the vital services our communities rely on. I have helped secure over $700,000 in state funding for our fire and EMS companies across the 6^th District. It was especially rewarding to see firsthand how these investments are being put to use in our communities.

At the Warminster Township National Night Out, I was proud to present a state funding check to the Warminster Fire Department to support the purchase of new AEDs for their Department. These lifesaving devices will help our firefighters and emergency responders provide critical care when seconds matter.

At the Bensalem National Night Out, I had the opportunity to see the new regional SWAT vehicle that Reps. Marcell, Tomlinson, and Hogan and I helped secure $350,000 in state funding to purchase. The vehicle has been delivered and housed in Bensalem and is expected to enter service soon. It will serve all three Bucks County regional special units and tactical SWAT teams, helping drastically reduce response times

Updates to U.S. 1 Improvement Projects

PennDOT is encouraging the public to view recent updates to the project website for the upcoming U.S. 1 Section RC3 Project, to improve safety and congestion along a 2.7-mile section of U.S. 1 in Middletown Township and Langhorne Manor and Langhorne boroughs, Bucks County.

The project website has been updated with recent project design changes to address comments received during the 45-day comment period on the Environmental Assessment (EA) that concluded on Friday, January 2, 2026. Rep. Hogan and I worked with PennDOT to make sure residents’ concerns about the project were heard and taken in consideration. The design changes include retention of the majority of the existing service roads as local roads disconnected from U.S. 1 for local traffic circulation and improvements to access for Neshaminy High School along Old Lincoln Highway.

The project website has also been updated with new plan view color graphics and an updated roadway typical section to reflect the project design changes. Additionally, the Environmental webpage for the U.S. 1 Section RC3 project has been updated to provide a similar background for the design changes along with an update to the current project schedule as PennDOT continues to work through the Environmental Assessment process. PennDOT anticipates an environmental decision in the fall of 2026 at which time the results of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) decision will be posted to the project website along with an updated Environmental Assessment document reflecting the project design changes including updates to relevant project technical files.

Understanding Digital Threats to Children

Aug. 17 – Aug. 23 is “Social Media Safety and Parental Awareness Week” in Pennsylvania. This first-of-its-kind designation is designed to help parents, guardians and students better understand potential threats in the digital world, including cyberbullying, sextortion, AI-generated child sexual abuse material, grooming and other dangerous forms of abuse.

My legislative colleagues and I have worked to keep kids safe from dangers online. This includes laws criminalizing deepfakes, giving law enforcement tools to combat online abuse, creating the Task Force on Child Protection in the Digital Age and more. The Senate has also passed legislation (pending in the House of Representatives) providing safeguards for AI chatbots, prohibiting “nudification” apps and protecting young people against AI-generated child abuse materials.
